The Kansas Energy Program (KEP) provides energy-focused education, grant information, and technical assistance to Kansas small businesses and agricultural producers, K-12 educators, and governmental entities.

Energy education

KEP provides energy-focused activities, curricula, an equipment library and other resources to K-12 educators. KEP also oversees the K-12 Energy Benchmarking Project and KidWind Challenge.

Small businesses and agricultural producers

The focus of the energy assessment program is on providing no-cost energy assessments to small businesses, agricultural producers, and non-profit entities. We also assist eligible entities in preparing USDA Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) grant applications.

Facility Conservation Improvement Program

Administered through the Kansas Corporation Commission (KCC), FCIP is an energy performance contract (EPC) mechanism that allows government-owned buildings to pay for energy efficiency improvements through energy and operational cost savings.
